Dr. Andrew Dutta is born in a family that is continuing astrological practice since the last 224 years. His maternal great-grandfather was late Surendranath Jyotir Vachaspati of Khulna, in Bangladesh. He handed down the lineage to his mother, late Srimati Deblina (Smt. Ujjwala Dutta), an eminent and illustrious astrologer of Kolkata. Unfortunately she breathed her last on 22nd April 2014 morning.
Since his birth, Dr. Andrew saw his mother providing consultancy to people. He grew up hearing the names of planets, stars and Rashis as a part of his family culture. His mother was his first Guru who initiated him into the vast ocean of astrology. He was formally trained in astrology by two great Gurus in the field of professional astrology–Jyotiryogi ji (Sri Pramod Ranjan Mahanto) and late P.V.K. Punneswara Rao ji of Hyderabad.

Astrology Credentials
Andrew’s mother, late Mrs. Ujjwala Dutta (Srimati Deblina) was his first Guru. She initiated him into this vast ocean of astrology (Jyotisha) at quite an early age. Andrew’s mother taught him the esoteric principles of remedial measures in astrology apart from infusing the basic foundation of Hindu or Vedic astrology.
She held his hands carefully and brought him to the shores of the occean of astrology. Dr. Andrew picked up his initial lessons of predictive astrology from his mother. He also observed and learnt from his mother’s illustrious astrological practice in Kolkata with innumerable clients.
His second Guru is ‘Jyotiryogi’ ji (Sri Pramod Ranjan Mohanto) who trained him in Vedic or Hindu astrology. He was very fortunate to be the only disciple of ‘Jyotiryogi’ ji. Jyotiryogi ji groomed and trained him in the field of astrology and taught him and shared with him all the experiential knowledge that he gained in four and a half decade as a leading professional astrologer of Kolkata.
He taught Andrew remedial measures in astrology through gem stones that can have miraculous effect on individuals, following the methods advocated by the famous late Sadhan Bhai of Kolkata. His magnanimity towards him is bigger than the seven seas.
His third Guru was one of the famous legends in Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP) astrology in the world—late Sri P.V.K. Punneswara Rao ji, of Hyderabad who practiced astrology for more than six decades. Andrew had a personal, one-to-one learning under him. His Guruji Sri Rao ji has selflessly shared his knowledge of KP system and imbibed spirituality and positive virtues in Dr. Andrew during his training in KP system under him at Rao ji’s own residence in Hyderabad. Rao ji was the direct student of late Sri V.B.N. Sarma ji of Warrangal, who himself resided in the house of late K.S. Krishnamurti (the inventor of KP system) and learnt the technique from the great Guru himself.
Sri Rao ji’s presence in his life is like a Divine blessing and he has brought Dr. Andrew very close to the Supreme Soul. He has given Dr. Andrew a spiritual birth. Without his handholding, Dr. Andrew would not have been so close to God as he is today.
Therefore, Dr. Andrew Dutta practices the most authentic KP astrology because he is privy to the real and original principles of KP astrology directly through the K.S. Krishnamurti lineage of “Gharana”.
Both his Gurujis have loved him like their own son and have built a strong character in him to become an honest astrologer for the benefit of the society. Academic Credentials
Dr. Andrew Dutta (Sri Indrajit) has a highly qualified academic background, which is not usually found among astrologers in India. A PhD in Management, he was the Visiting Research Scholar to the Bentley University in Massachusetts, USA in 2004-05. He developed his doctoral dissertation in management, which was awarded to him after his successful thesis defense in 2007 in India.
Therefore, he is a trained researcher who understands and conducts systematic statistical researches in the field of management and Financial Astrology of the Stock Markets. And he has applied his knowledge of systematic research and statistics applied practical astrology.
His PhD thesis was in the interface of information technology with human resources management and he is currently a fully tenured tracked professor in the Human Resources Management domain in one of the ivy league business management schools of India and the Dean of a management institution.
He visited the USA again in 2011 to present his research paper in management education at Marquette University in Wisconsin and in 2013 in University of North Carolina in Ashville and also to attend conferences in management and for presenting his technical papers.
A university topper from the University of Calcutta in Business Finance, Dr. Dutta was awarded a Gold Medal from the university in 1999 for ranking First in First Class in his year. An alumnus from the prestigious St. Xavier’s College of Calcutta, he graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) degree with a First Class. He was also the India topper in the paper ‘Structure of Commerce’ in ISC 1994 scoring 99% at his 12th Grade school leaving examination.
He worked briefly in the advertising industry in Calcutta with the erstwhile Creative Dimensions (now Take5 Communications) before joining the academia and the higher education sector of India where he works as an Professor of Human Resource Management.
Apart from scholastic articles in the field of astrology, Dr. Andrew Dutta has over 25 scholarly and research papers in the field of information systems and human resources management.

He completed a highly acclaimed and successful 3 Days intensive KP astrology workshop in Malaysia. Upon the invitation of the Malaysian Astrological Society from 1st to 3rd May 2015, Dr. Andrew Dutta (Sri Indrajit) was conferred the honorary title SOTHIDA MANNAN (meaning “Emperor of Astrology”) by the Malaysian Astrological Society, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 3rd May 2015 in Malaysia.
This is the greatest honor for a KP astrologer. Because the inventor of the KP system of astrology late K.S. Krishnamurty ji was also awarded with the same title Sothida Mannan in June 1970 by the then Malayan Astrological Society, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This was later registered as the Malaysian Astrological Society in 1972.
Truly, history repeats itself after 45 years for the world’s number 1 KP astrologer.

Dr. Andrew Dutta (Sri Indrajit) belongs to the select group of rare astrologers worldwide who have staunchly advocated for the field of astrology and vigorously confronted rationalists and anti-astrology campaigns. His resolute support for astrology had a profound impact in West Bengal starting in 2001, following the release of his Bengali book titled “Jyotish Shastrer Baignanik Vitti,” which translates to “The Scientific Bases of Astrology.” Unlike numerous self-proclaimed astrologers on the internet lacking substantial credentials, background, and a long history in astrology, Dr. Andrew Dutta (Sri Indrajit) has demonstrated his expertise from a very young age. Proof of the pudding lies in eating.
Dr. Dutta, at the age of 26, published this book on December 25, 2001, in response to unethical editing by a private TV channel during one of its programs, where they misrepresented his correct answer to favor rationalists. The printing cost of the book was subsidized by M/s Swapna Printing Works in Kolkata, and artist Subhankar Basu provided the cover page design free of charge. The book quickly sold out at the Calcutta Book Fair in 2002, with the price set solely to cover production expenses.
Once this book was published, there was abject silence from all rationalists of West Bengal. NOT A SINGLE RATIONALISTS, who were denigrating astrology, palmistry and allied sciences, were to be seen on the scene of anti-propaganda after this book was published. Even till today, after 21 long years, NOT A SINGLE RATIONALIST could muster the courage to write a single word against this well researched book, which not only provided the scientific bases of various parts of astrology in a nutshell, but also exposed the hypocrisy and malignant intentions of self-proclaimed rationalists in West Bengal as well as in other parts of the world.

Dr. Andrew Dutta was conferred one of the highest and highly prestigious astrological title JYOTISHYA MAHAMAHOPADHAYAYA. Awarded by the Universal Research Institute of Astro & Occult Sciences, Hyderabad. This was awarded in their 28th Annual Convocation in recognition of his dedicated and extraordinary global services to the cause of Research, Development and Propagation of astrology with special emphasis on Krishnamurti Paddhati.
Such high honor has been received by Dr. Andrew Dutta at the young age of 38.
Nostradamus Award 2009
